Client Sector Area Location Value Start and Length Contract Following a competitive tender process, we were instructed to carry out the subdivision of a former department store into three units, and associated landlord works for incoming tenants at Fore Street, Trowbridge.
Handover took place over two stages with a unit prepared and handed over to Poundworld within 3 weeks of starting works.
Works involved extensive strip out and specialist demolition works. The units were split using a mixture of metal stud partitioning and block work. New electrical and waters services were brought into the units. Emergency lighting and a fire alarm system was installed. A toilet block was formed for unit B including all finishes. Unit B also had a new doorway installed to the front of the store. Security doors to the rear of units A and B were replaced.
A new double-height opening was formed at the rear of the building to form an access to unit C, along with removal of part of the floor slab to create a double height stairwell, lift shaft and reception area for incoming tenant, Anytime Fitness.
A metal staircase was installed along with curtain walling and a disabled lift. Externally, ramps were formed, including the building of dwarf walls and brick paving. Carpets and vinyl flooring were also fitted.
