Computer Teaching Suite

We were instructed following a competitive tender process, to carry out a comprehensive remodel and refurbishment of part of level 4 of the School of Social Sciences, to form a dividable computer teaching suite. Works also included the creation of a meeting room and refurbishment of adjoining corridors and toilet blocks. An additional office and common room refurbishment was added to the works by the client once works were underway on site. Works included a light strip out of areas, including all mechanical and electrical works, and extensive demolitions of dividing concrete walls in the main area. New metal stud partition walls were then built and disturbed surfaces were prepared and skimmed. All new mechanical and electrical works were then run surface. Mechanical included replacement of sanitaryware and air conditioning. Electrical works included power, lighting, fire alarms and data. Finishes included new carpentry and joinery, suspended ceilings, decorations, floor coverings, specialist computer benching benching. Bi-folding doors were installed approximately halfway through the main computer room enabling it to be split when required. The toilets also received new cubicle systems and tiling. All works were successfully completed within the programme and handed back to the School in September 2013.
