Following a competitive tender process we were awarded the contract to undertake the design and build over cladding of asbestos roofs to 12 industrial units. All but 4 of the units were occupied. The H&S of tenant occupiers and the site team was of the highest priority throughout the project. Works were completed over 5 phases to minimise disruption to tenants. Purlins were environmentally cleaned prior to netting being erected on the underside of each roof. Scaffolding handrails, access towers and loading bays were built. Existing fixings were removed and new rails fitted reusing the original fixing penetrations. Insulation and new roof sheets were then fitted including replacement roof lights. Works were completed with new fascia and trim details. A number of gutters were relined using a Sharman gutter lining. Existing cladding to Units 1-3 were prepared including cut edge corrosion treatment and recoated using Giromax Seamsil 100 and Girocoat. Windows were rejuvenated using MARRS treatment. The 4 vacant units were stripped out where necessary and lightly refurbished including redecorations to all walls, floors and joinery. Offices were also carpeted. Roller doors overhauled. Electrical testing and remedial works completed. Palisade fenced yard and gate to one unit.
